ASIC Information Links

The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC)  has just launched a new online insolvency portal specifically designed to meet the needs of stakeholders likely to be impacted by corporate insolvency. The portal is part of ASIC's response to the increasing number of companies experiencing financial difficulty, or becoming insolvent, in the current economic environment.

A new 'Insolvency' tab has replaced the previous 'For liquidators' tab on ASIC's website. All insolvency related information, including the Liquidator information, is now located under the ‘Insolvency' tab at www.asic.gov.au/insolvency.

The portal includes new sections dedicated to company directors, creditors, employees, shareholders, investors as well as a resources section. It provides information specific to each stakeholder group about their rights and obligations and responds to frequently asked questions. It also assists stakeholders to understand the technical jargon of insolvency and outlines the most common forms of corporate insolvency administration.
